A character-driven space opera with adventure, intrigue, and romance for fans of Dune, Ender's Game, and Star Wars!
When Cris Sietinen leaves Tararia as a teenager to learn more about his prohibited telekinetic abilities, he thinks he's started a new life. Years later, he learns that freedom was always an illusion--he and his family are at the center of an elaborate galactic conspiracy orchestrated by the governing Priesthood.
Genetic engineering, political manipulation, and preordained destinies converge when Cris and his son Wil learn of a secret interdimensional war against the mysterious Bakzen. But the real enemy may be far closer to home. With knowledge of the Priesthood's hidden agenda and its disastrous political ramifications for the Taran empire, Cris and Wil embark on a mission to save their civilization from certain destruction.
This collection includes the first three volumes of the Cadicle series.
ARCHITECTS OF DESTINY
Cris Sietinen was born with rare telekinetic gifts--abilities outlawed by the governing Priesthood. A new future awaits when Cris receives an invitation to join the TSS and begin their sanctioned telekinesis training program. Except, following that path puts him at the center of a generations-old galactic conspiracy.
VEIL OF REALITY
The greatest deceptions are never suspected. After twenty years with the TSS, Cris Sietinen is in the unprecedented position of being both Lead Agent and heir to a High Dynasty. When his son is captured by the mysterious alien Bakzen, Cris uncovers a hidden truth that forces him to question all that he once took for granted.
BONDS OF RESOLVE
A year after his encounter with the Bakzen, Wil is still grappling with his upcoming role in the war. However, Wil finds unexpected support when he befriends a new TSS trainee from Earth, Saera. Through their budding relationship, Wil comes to terms with the purpose he was born to fulfill and gains comfort in the knowledge that he won't have to face the future alone.

I read the entire Generation War series also known as the Cadicle Series. Seven books in total. It was a fun three weeks. The series is very steady. Every series has action packed spots and most have periods where the story drags, particularly long series like this one. This series kept me interested throughout and I never had that "I wish this would just wrap up moment". In fact, I actually thought the series could easily have gone another book or two. The book is very well edited. I proof read for several authors, so I have a pretty good eye for typos and such. While not reading this series as a proofreader, I only noticed 3-4 small typos - which is very good for a couple thousand pages of print. This isn't a hard core science based SyFy book or a military focused series. It does mix soft SyFy, military, "enhanced" human abilities in with a very good story line. There are some plot twists and surprises along the way. I won't say this is my favorite series (cause I write honest reviews and there can only be one favorite), but I will say I really enjoyed the series and I am going to read more of Amy's books. I would highly recommend folks pick up the series. It was priced inexpensively when I got it, but it was work much more. I won't review each book since I was too busy reading, that I can't say I can remember all the break points. Plus it is irrelevant. If you have already started the series you will continue it based on your enjoyment of Amy's writing. The key is do you start the series. I believe you should.Product details

Cadicle An Epic Space Opera Series Volumes 13 (Audible Audio Edition) Amy DuBoff Josh Bloomberg Podium Publishing Books Reviews
All three books within this 'book' are all written, with interesting and relatable characters. I am really looking forward to reading the next book and learning more about what the Priesthood is hiding about the beginning of the war. Wil is growing up and is already demonstrating good leadership qualities. Hopefully, he is able to do what is necessary without losing himself or going too far!
I am sometimes hesitant about buying a series of books when I don't know the author. Cadicle has proved to be a diamond in the rough. I am writing this review after I have finished all 7 books in the series. Each book just keeps getting better and better. Great story line, good charter development, good guys, bad guys, some good guys that you maybe don't like, drama, and good theater.
Excellence, in my humble opinion, comes from talent and hard core work and practice. I believe Amy DuBoff has both.
Excellent character design and growth, with great depth in the intertwined lives makes this a great read! A exceptional mix of sci-fi, politics, personal lives, and intrigue.
Just try it, I'm comfortable you won't be disappointed.
I waited till I read all 7 books in this series before writing a review. Often times a story will bog down, wander off course and lose it's way after the 3rd or 4th book in the series. Not here. What a joy! I loved every minute that I spent reading. The characters were complex and likeable. Even the bad guys were well fleshed out and their motives for being bad were understandable. A lot of times the antagonist is evil just for the sake of being evil. I could actually feel some sympathy for the Bakzen.
All in all I highly recommend this series, you won't regret it.
This book is actually volumes 1 thru 3 of the Cadicle series. I enjoyed reading this. The focus is on two enhanced generations of a powerful financial dynasty. They join a policing organization which enables as well as trains people with enhanced abilities but secretly has their own agenda, and what an agenda it is. A whole lot of politics and secrets unveil, some predictable. It still pulled me in as a reader despite the predictability. The characters are likable, the teenagers atypical, but maybe because of their backgroynds? There's a sinister thread running throughout and naturally it remained unresolved at volume 3's end. I must continue!
I suppose "young adult/tween" isn't a derogatory, it's an important category, but it's not what I was expecting. I like the universe building and the main character (at least in book 1) is easy to support. The problem for me was the simplicity of the emotions and how the characters handle them. As an example, the main character meets a girl and they hit it off instantly, within a couple chapters they're ready to consider marriage. Ok...a bit quick, but all right. However, he, a powerful noble heir, is in the academy under a false name for very understandable reasons. He comes clean and the girl that was just ready jump his bones 3 minutes ago, was asking about marriage, flips out, yells at him about acting in all these horrible ways he really didn't , and generally acts completely contrary to all her previous behavior.
Just...uggh...the emotional roller coaster maturity of 12 year olds. I stopped reading there.
I think there's some excellent stuff in these books, it's just not in the emotional depth of the characters.
I love this series despite it's limitations. The characters are well developed. However, they are unrealistic. Those with virtuous characters are seemingly incorruptible and saintly while villains are seemingly irredeemable and incapable of acting ethically--even within some twisted framework in which evil deeds are considered praiseworthy. Still, I have avidly devoured each book in the series because the author has created a consistent and believable technological universe in which Terran society has flourished for tens of thousands of years. I highly recommend the series.
